The lagoon
Islands, villages, waterways, reefs and landscapes.
More than a destination — a living heritage. Built to help people discover the lagoon, understand its communities, and preserve what deserves to be carried forward.
This project will not come from stock images or an outsider's idea of a tropical lagoon. It will come from people who know the place, care about its culture, and help document it with respect.
It begins as a website, and can grow into a destination guide, a storytelling platform, a visual map and a living archive — carefully, one step at a time.

Islands, villages, waterways, reefs and landscapes.

Access, transport, places to stay and responsible travel.
A long-term home for photographs, places, history and knowledge.
Making locally owned stays, guides and experiences easier to find.
Homepage design, identity, navigation and hosting.
Discover, People & Culture, Stories, Visit and About.
Replace concept imagery with verified photographs and aerials.
Place records and the first interactive lagoon map.
Moderated story, photo, place and correction submissions.
Searchable stories, galleries and oral-history material.
Transport, stays, services and contacts — kept accurate.
Improve what people use, and partner only where it helps the mission.
We're looking for photographs, video and knowledge from people with a genuine connection to the lagoon. Every image is best with its context: who took it, where, when, and the story behind it.
Contributions open soon. Until the submission form is ready, reach out through our social channels.
Does it help someone discover VonaVona, understand its people, plan responsibly, or preserve something worth carrying forward?
